Absolute Lock and Key was founded in 2002 by an enterprising Scotsman who, after working as a locksmith in the San Francisco region for several years, saw a dire need for a truly service-oriented company. Time and time again customers told him, "I wish I could get that kind of service every time I call a locksmith," until he finally decided to make it happen. Over the next four years, Jim Hamilton and his mobile service secured a reputation for unparalleled customer service as well as technical expertise in commercial, residential, and automotive locksmith applications.

In 2006, Jim and his family left California and moved to midcoast Maine in search of a more relaxed lifestyle and a change of seasons. Jim took a much needed break while his wife Sondra opened a bustling coffeehouse. (Need some tasty beans? Check out Zoot Coffee.)

Before long, however, Jim saw another niche to fill. Motorcyclists and scooterists in Maine, as well as all over the country, were travelling hundreds of miles and being charged sinful amounts of money to have their keys duplicated or replaced at a dealership. An avid and long-time enthusiast, Jim decided to reincarnate Absolute Lock and Key. The company now specializes in online motorcycle and scooter key sales. We stock a full range of OEM-quality key blanks as well as transponder (computer chip) key blanks. We also provide an optional service to cut/clone a duplicate for your original key using our state-of-the-art machinery.
